The name Hobo refers to the tradition of wire craftsmanship, the region of Småland, and the early days of the Swedish glassworks. In those times, itinerant workers and vagabonds would sleep in the warmth of the glass furnaces and create distinctive objects from bent metal wire.
The lamp conveys the craftsmanship and energy of the moment when the glowing molten glass meets the brass basket, expands, settles, and takes on its final sculptural form.
