Örsjö

From the Hands of the

Örsjö Family

Our company is built on simple values and strong beliefs. We develop and produce premium lighting by hand in our local factory, with the sincere intention of leaving the best possible mark on our planet.

Örsjö is more than a name. It’s the place where it all started—a small village located just outside of Nybro in Småland, Sweden.

For over 70 years, we’ve known that local, small-scale production is the key to making quality products equitably and sustainably. As a family-owned business, we’re proud of our roots and that we still produce our lighting products in our own factory.

We like to say that objects created by hand leave a certain indescribable sense of human touch and warmth—a link between the user and the creator that is often lost in industrial production.

For that reason, the work of the hand is very important to us. We use local craftsmen for our entire product range. We weld, solder, bend, polish, paint, assemble, blow glass and carve leather in our factory or at our friends’ workshops in the region.

As a result of our craft heritage we also encourage a design process based on materiality, which allows the raw materials we use to come into their own. We work with designers who adopt an applied arts approach to their work, resulting in a collection of expressive and unique lighting pieces.

Together with celebrated Scandinavian designers like Jonas Bohlin, Folkform, Pierre Sindre, and Matti Klenell, we have established Örsjö Belysning as one of Sweden’s leading lighting brands, winning several awards and accolades along the way.

To ensure continuous improvement and development, our management system is certified according to ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environmental).

We’ve put in a lot of work towards sustainability in both the design and production. By using sustainable materials and dimensions, producing locally, and designing for easy recycling, we are able to limit the impact we make on the environment. We simply want our products to outlive ourselves and leave the best possible mark on people’s lives.
